Martin Clunes jokingly branded Lorraine Kelly “sexist” after she gushed over a topless snap of Poldark actor Aidan Turner.

The Doc Martin actor, 57, appeared on the daytime show on Tuesday to discuss his new documentary Islands Of America.

Speaking about the filming on the final series of Poldark coming to an end, Lorraine hinted she wanted to see a more racy picture of Aidan as his character Ross Poldark.

She said: “What a shame. I wish we had a photograph we could remember Poldark by, ah thank you for that, lovely, that’s cheered us all up.

“Obviously the new series will be happening, not quite sure when it’s coming out, maybe in the summer and then that will be that. Just the re-runs and that photograph to remind ourselves.”

A photo showing Aidan with his top off then popped up and Lorraine was very happy.

But Martin replied: “That’s sexist. I could have you in a tribunal.”

He added: “If I said, ‘show that picture with her baps out,’ there’d be trouble.”

Defending herself, Lorraine quipped: “He’s not got his winky out! He’s just got his chest out.”

Martin said: “No, that was all I was suggesting.”
