AJ Pritchard thinks brother Curtis should stick with Amy

He said his little bro is too honest for his own good

AJ Pritchard has come to the defence of his brother Curtis, after his Love Island relationship was left in a shambles last night (July 3).

Viewers know Curtis was coupled up with Amy and the pair had declared themselves half-boyfriend and half-girlfriend (yes, apparently, it’s a thing).

However, their relationship faced its biggest test when Amy and the girls went to stay in Case Amor with six new hunky men, while Curtis and co stayed in the Love Island villa and were introduced to six new stunning ladies.

And Curtis found his ‘head was turned’ by Jourdan – who he even told he’d choose over Amy in the recoupling.

In one of the most cringey moments of the series so far, Jourdan friend-zoned him and made it clear her heart was set on Danny instead.

Leaving Curtis with, it seems, little option but to stick with Amy…

As viewers began to doubt Curtis’ integrity, and Amy was left in tears upon hearing the truth, older brother AJ has now explained that his little bro “literally can’t lie” and that’s “sometimes his downfall”.

Appearing on Lorraine this morning (July 4), the Strictly professional dancer said: “Curtis wears his heart on his sleeve. He’s so honest, he literally can’t lie and that’s sometimes his downfall.

“Sometimes I feel like saying: ‘Just say it this way, it’ll come across maybe nicer than the way you’ve said it.'”

On Curtis’ relationship troubles with Amy, AJ – who is one year older – said: “It’s been portrayed that he’s kind of cheated on her, whereas realistically he kissed another girl, but that was in a task.

“He slept outside with Tommy in a bed.”

AJ then joked: “Him and Tommy’s relationship has gone from strength to strength!”

While Amy has told Curtis she won’t be second best, AJ told Lorraine he believes there’s still hope for the pair.

He said: “I feel like she [Amy] does have to trust in Curtis, I know that it is hard.”

He also had some advice for his sibling, saying: “For me, stick to what you’re doing. Stick to your heart. He was a bit upset last night. It was difficult, I just wanted to give him a hug. Tommy then walked over and gave him a hug, seeing that true friendship, Curtis needs that.

“I think he should stay with Amy. Curtis does what he feels and he wants to get back with her.”

Although he jokes that Curtis and Tommy’s bromance could win the show, he went on to say that he approves of Amy, telling the Scottish host: “100 per cent, yeah, she’s a gorgeous girl and her personality.”

Watch Lorraine weekdays on ITV from 8.30am
