She said: "Many of you would have seen the very sad news that Ruth Langford's sister Julia has passed away.

"Obviously it's horrible news and understandably, Ruth has said she needs to take some time to grieve with her family at this incredibly difficult time.

"We just wanted to take a moment to say that all of us at Loose Women are thinking of you Ruth and sending you so much love to you and your family."

She added: "So this is from us to you," as she blew a kiss.

It comes after Ruth's husband Eamonn Holmes choked up as he paid tribute to Julia on today's This Morning.

Rylan said: "We know Ruth is watching and we are sending you all our love, and we love you dearly. And Ruth is going to need time to deal with this.  And so are you, for that matter. But I couldn't not be here."
