Carol McGiffin was branded a liar by her fellow Loose Women panellists, after she failed to tell them she had tied the knot with her toyboy.
The 58-year-old had to sit and listen as she was confronted by her co-stars on today’s show (14 February).
Carol only recently revealed she had married Mark Cassidy in a secret ceremony – a year ago!
Her Loose Women buddies were oblivious to her plans and consequently weren’t invited to the wedding, which was a low-key ceremony in Bangkok.
Straight-talking panellist Jane Moore seemed rather miffed about the whole situation and accused Carol of fibbing to them all.
Jane, 56, pointed out that Carol had “fundamentally lied” to their faces because they have constantly been asking her when she planned to walk down the aisle with Mark.
Carol tried to keep things light and defended her decision not to tell anyone.
She said: “It wasn’t a lie. I never said ‘no’ ever. We just kept it secret. We did it on our own, just us two, nobody at all. It had to be like that – all or nothing.
“We thought ‘we won’t tell anyone just yet’. We liked having a secret. Then the secret carried on.”

However, she added that she did tell closer friends and family – ouch!
She continued: “We did tell all our close friends and family. In a kind of way we had little celebrations with our families and close friends and probably missed a few out – so sorry about that.”
Carol and Mark, who is 22 years her junior, wed in a casual set-up on 8 February last year.

At least someone backed Carol up. Host Christine Lampard said she “admired” Carol for keeping things private for so long.
