They’re best known for getting up at the crack of dawn to co-host Good Morning Britain.

But now Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard can also add Hollywood stars to their CV after landing cameo roles in a big movie blockbuster.

The TV pair announced on Friday’s show they appear in the Lego Ninjago Movie as little Lego versions of themselves, reporting for a fictional programme called Good Morning Ninjago.

Though, er, someone may want to tell movie bosses they didn’t quite get Kate’s hair right…

Her Lego character sports a sharp black bob in contrast to her normal shoulder-length blonde locks, as she reports on the “total annihilation” on the city.

Kate said of the experience: “It was really, really intense, I can’t tell you.

“Because you’re trying to be the character it’s a big, big project.”

Ben added: “The animation happened before we got there so we had to get our mouths to match the animation as well.

“They kept saying, ‘You’re missing it! You’re missing it!'”

Kate agreed it was “really difficult” especially as she kept being told to draw out certain syllables more to ensure her voice matched the character.

“They said, ‘Say Gar-rrrrr-madon, say Gar-rrrrr-madon’ and then also went, ‘But be yourself’ – and I said, ‘But I don’t go Gar-rrrrr-madon!'”

Ben joked: “You got so posh, even more posh than normal!”

In an interview with ITV News, Kate added doing the cameo had completely changed her opinion of what it takes to voice an animated character.

“We often see B-roll of stars doing voice overs and recording their character and you think it looks like so much fun – but it’s actually really hard.

“You can see why they act it out in the booth.”

Ben added: “It’s very intense and there are a lot of people in the room.”

Both television presenters also said there was added pressure far beyond pleasing the Hollywood studio – making sure their kids approved!

“We have kids at an age who know Ninjago and love Lego and the Lego movies which adds pressure,” said Ben.

“Our kids have high expectations and we can’t let them down – or Lego Ninjago.”

It’s not the first time the pair have dabbled in the movie world.

Earlier this year Kate nabbed herself a cameo role in Sharknado 5: Global Swarming, while Ben popped up in an uncredited tole in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, playing a dad doing some shopping in Diagon Alley.

Who knew?!
