Richard Madeley has made a dig at I’m A Celebrity producers as he accused them of “manipulating” the contestants.
The presenter, 62, was talking to Joe Swash about the time he appeared on the show’s spin-off programme Extra Camp – which Joe co-hosts with Scarlett Moffatt and Joel Dommett.
Richard insisted he wouldn’t sign up to the ITV reality show as he’s a “control freak” despite having once crawled through tight spaces and covered in snakes as a guest on Extra Camp.

Host Kate Garraway said: “You would be so good in there, Richard. I think he’d be brilliant.”
Richard said: “I wouldn’t do it, I wouldn’t dream of it.
“I’m a little bit of a control freak and in that show it looks all free but you’re so manipulated by the producers, which is fine, that’s part of the fun, but I wouldn’t want it.”
Richard then spoke about the time he appeared on Extra Camp and underwent a Bushtucker Trial.
Joe, 37, said: “Last time I saw you Richard you were in a pit of snakes.”
Richard replied: “That’s right, I was in a coffin and they were putting loads of snakes in, you were in one with loads of insects. I actually quite enjoyed it.”
He then joked: “It was like a home from home, I thought ‘I’m on GMB again’, no it’s lovely here everybody, it’s my last day so I can have a little dig.
“I know some people are freaked out by snakes but they’re all constrictors that they put in the coffin with you and obviously they’re very muscly and it’s like having a massage.”
Richard went on to ask Joe about having a cockroach wedged inside his ear during last year’s series.
In November last year, Joe had to go to hospital after the critter became lodged in his ear after he took part in an Extra Camp vs Main Camp Bushtucker trial.

Joe explained: “I had a cockroach run into my ear and get stuck and then the doctor couldn’t get it out. I had it for three days in my ear.
“But I’ve got it at home in a little jar. It’s only half of it so we don’t know where the other half went. I’m hoping it’s gone through my system.”
Kate was horrified as she exclaimed: “Oh, Joe! That’s so disturbing.”
