Piers Morgan forced to apologise for repeating ‘rude’ word on GMB

GMB host repeatedly said a rude word when referring to politicians

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan landed himself in hot water this morning for repeatedly ‘swearing’ live on air.

Presenting alongside co-host Susanna Reid, Piers launched into an attack on the country’s politicians on the back of a protest in Parliament yesterday, which saw a group of people rushing into the House Of Commons naked to protest over Brexit.

“Finally we could see with our own eyes that there really were just a bunch of [bleep] in Parliament,’ Piers quipped, as Susanna attempted to cover his mouth.

He said a word beginning with the letter ‘a’ that also refers to a bottom.

“How are you allowed to say that?” questioned Susanna as she looked off camera for guidance.

Piers laughed: “I don’t think it’s that rude, is it? Well they are a bunch of [bleep] in Parliament. I’m being told I can’t say [bleep]. Oh, it just popped out again.”

Adopting a high-pitched voice, the presenter mocked: “I’d like to apologise to anyone who was offended by the use of the word [bleep]. I’m sorry, why is that offensive?! Seriously, we’ve all got one.”

“And we’ve seen yours this morning,” Susanna said, referring to a cartoon they had shown of Piers earlier on in the show.

“You’ve literally just shown my naked [bleep] this morning on telly, apparently the team can show that, that’s fine,” he said.

“Yes,” Susanna retorted. “But you can’t say it.”

Piers hit back: “But you can expose me to ridicule in that way, but if I mention the word then apparently that’s an offence. Obviously the caption to that Parliament picture is what a bunch of [bleep].”

“What a bunch of bums I think you’re allowed to say,” a giggling Susanna told Piers.

“Why is bum any less offensive?” he asked.

“Because kids are watching,” Susanna said, to which Piers added: “You’re all a bunch of useless bums, that’s fine is it? Extraordinary! It’s not a swear word, is it?”

“No, but it’s not something children need to say, mind you, it’s not something children need to see,” Susanna laughed.

“You’ve just shown them a picture of me naked on a silver platter, is that suitable for children?” Piers asked.

“And I called you a genius, which is offensive to a lot of people,” Susanna said, adding: “Sorry about that, if you’re offended about anything this morning…”

“I’m offended by Parliament and our MPs, I find them all offensive and I don’t apologise for what I called them because that’s what they are,” said Piers having the final word on the subject.
