Love Island’s Kem Cetinay confirms exit from GMB after viewers slammed presenting skills

He admits he's not the best presenter

Kem Cetinay has confirmed he won’t be presenting on Good Morning Britain again, as he found it ‘quite a hard’ job to do.

GMB host Piers Morgan famously slammed him and girlfriend Amber Davies (who co-presented with Kem) for being “dimwits”.

Recently the couple stood in for Richard Arnold and presented his entertainment news section.

But when Richard was back on the show Piers said to him: “In your absence apparently these two Love Island dimwits stood in for you.

“The ones with the funny names. I didn’t think anyone could lower the bar from you but they managed it.”

So they obviously didn’t make a fan out of Piers!

Kem has opened up to The Sun about why he won’t be coming back to the ITV show.

He said: “That was hard. I’m glad because, no one’s got that type of opportunity from that type of show, so to be given it was a privilege.”

“But I just think, I’m not a presenter and it was quite hard for me.”

He continued: “I think people found me funny, but presenting is a lot more scripted and you’ve got to read facts and I’m not the best reader in the world.”

Last month when the Love Island pair made their presenting debut, it didn’t go down well with the viewers.

One viewer tweeted: “Everyone knows I’m a big fan of Love Island… But Kem & Amber presenting and reading the autocue on GMB is painful. They’re not natural.”

Another tweeted: “Ken and Amber on GMB Amber sounds so fake reading the autocue, not made for telly.”

The couple addressed the haters during the show. GMB hosts Richard Madeley and Ranvir Singh asked the pair if they’d had any feedback of their presenting on social media, and that’s when Kem hit back.

Kem said: “I went on my Twitter and I’m not going to lie both of us have been getting a bit of stick, but like we’re giving it a go, we’re doing our best, give us a break, guys.”

He added: “People are saying we don’t know what we’re doing.

“It’s not like we have an autocue at home, do you know what I mean?”

Amber said: “We are trying our best.”

If that wasn’t enough of a blow to the ego, Piers even said that they’re ‘not welcome back’ as long as he’s on the show. Ouch! That’s a bit harsh Piers.
