Katie Price blames traffic for turning up late to Good Morning Britain

She later appeared on the show with her mother

Katie Price arrived late for her interview on Good Morning Britain and blamed the traffic.

The ex-glamour model, 40, was booked to appear on the ITV show on Tuesday with her mother, Amy.

Host Piers Morgan said: “Katie Price is here but apparently wants to spend a bit of time getting changed… it’s 8:23!” as Katie burst through the door and rushed on set.

Piers shouted: “Get in here! Come on!” to which Katie replied: “I’ve got no make-up on at all.”

Piers added: “Well, good! It’s probably improved things. Sit down.”

“I’m not late. Well, it’s not me. It’s the traffic,” she said.

She thought she had walked in when the show was off-air.

When host Susanna Reid told her that they were live, Katie – who was wearing tracksuit bottoms and a T-shirt – said: “I can’t believe I’m on telly with no make-up.”

Her mother, Amy, said: “You dropped me right in it there!”

But she told Piers Morgan: “She’s a good daughter. She’s lovely, she’s kind. She’s an excellent mum. The worst things are her timekeeping.”

Katie said she looked worse on her reality show, saying: “I don’t brush my hair.”

And she said she had a side of her personality which was private.

“You don’t see me sew. I made all my curtains, all my pelmets in my house… you never see that side of me,” she told the show.

The pair also got on to the subject of Brexit, with mother Amy saying she voted Leave because: “I’ve been to Spain. The roads over there are absolutely immaculate, all paid for by us. (There are) potholes over here.”

The pair appeared on Loose Women on Monday to talk about Amy’s terminal illness.

Asked how she’s feeling, Amy told the panel: “I’m not too bad. I went for tests this week with the transplant team – they keep an eye on me. My lung function tests have dropped a little bit but that’s to be expected because it is a progressive illness.”

Admitting the past year had been “such a bad year”, Katie joked: “I get the violin out. I say: ‘I thought you would have gone by now, you’ve still got a few years.'”

She added: “I haven’t processed it yet. When you hear the word terminal, you think it could be next week or a month, but she still has got lots in her. Lots of energy, still moaning at me.”
