Kate Garraway wows Good Morning Britain viewers with her new hairdo

Goodbye sleek 'n' straight, hello edgy and layered!

Kate Garraway debuted a brand new hairdo on Friday’s episode of Good Morning Britain – and viewers couldn’t get enough!

The 50-year-old presenter swapped her usual poker straight and sleek blonde bob for an edgier style featuring a flicked fringe and textured layers that added some serious oomph to her tresses.

One viewer tweeted: “Kate has lovely hair, always looks good her hair.”

Another agreed, saying: “Loving your hair today, Kate!”

A third simply said: “Looking fabulous.”

A fourth added: “I’m loving Kate’s hair. Is it different or am I completely unobservant at this time of day and it’s the same as always? #GMB #JustWokenUp.”

Others left gushing compliments including “gorgeous” and “stunning” on social media.

One cheeky viewers wasn’t as keen on the new look and joked that Kate and co-host Ben Shephard looked like they’d been “dragged through a hedge backwards”.

Taking it in good humour, Kate replied: “Dragged through a decade backwards more like! Or maybe even two!”

But fans were quick to assure Kate she looked amazing, with one saying: “Think you look stunning Kate and definitely not dragged through a hedge.”

Another said: “I think they all look amazing. Much better than I look at that time of the day.”

And a third added: “Both of you look great. Always look forward to the both of you on GMB together.”

Of course, you can’t always please everyone and there were a few viewers who weren’t fond of Kate’s flicky new ‘do.

One wrote: “Who on earth does Kate Garraway’s hair in the mornings? Always looks like she’s just rolled out of bed.”

No doubt the gushing compliments about her hair went down well with Kate, who once described her locks as “frizzy and unmanageable”.

Chatting to The Express in 2015 about the downside of radio versus TV, she joked: “The worst [thing about radio] is that I have frizzy, unmanageable privet hedge hair, and while in television it’s someone else’s responsibility to manage it – in radio I have to do it myself!”

Ah, if only we all had someone doing our hair each morning!
