Cancel any plans for Saturday, 14th April! That’s the date Britain’s Got Talent will be back on our screens.
ITV has confirmed the new series of Britain’s Got Talent will start at 8pm.
“We CANNOT wait for the new series to start! Not long now…” wrote the broadcaster
The tweet got a rapturous response, gaining hundreds of likes and retweets and numerous comments.
“I love this show, so excited,” one viewer replied.
Another wrote: “Very very excited! I have a feeling that this will be an awesome series. My mum and I are excited to watch again our favourite judge, @davidwalliams.”
A third said: “One of the best things in the TV calendar each year. Cannot wait.”
In another tweet, ITV teased it would be an “UNMISSABLE episode”, as Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams return to watch this year’s auditionees vying for the chance to perform at The Royal Variety Performance.
The auditions were filmed around the country in November last year, with the involvement of presenter Ant McPartlin.
He’s now back in treatment after being charged with drink-driving in March, leaving co-host Declan Donnelly to present the last two episodes of their Saturday Night Takeaway series alone.

Ant has asked ITV bosses for time off work, meaning it’s unclear if he will return for the BGT live shows later in May.
It has been suggested Dec could present the live shows alone, after he did such a good job solo on last weekend’s Takeaway.
An insider told The Sun: “After last weekend the feeling is very much that Dec should take on BGT alone too – he did a brilliant job.
“The bosses at ITV loved him and want him back on screens as soon as possible, and Simon Cowell totally agrees that he’s the best man for the job rather than bringing in a new face.”
They added: “It was obviously strange for viewers seeing him alone at first, but he took everything in his stride like a total pro.”
However, there’s been no word from ITV on whether that’s true.
Meanwhile, Stephen Mulhern will return to host Britain’s Got More Talent so viewers can see even more footage from the auditions and behind the scenes.
The show is no doubt hoping the new series will be as successful as previous years, which have uncovered talents such as dance troupe Diversity, pianist Tokio Myers and magician Richard Jones.
This week, producers were delighted the show was nominated for a TV BAFTA for Best Entertainment Programme.

They will go up against Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and The Voice UK, with the winner announced at the glitzy ceremony on 13 May.
