Viewers baffled as Lorraine Kelly compares Harry and Meghan to Oasis

Some Might Say the royal couple reminds them of the Gallagher brothers

| Updated:

One the one side, there’s the sixth-in-the-line to the throne Prince and his Hollywood bride-to-be. On the other, there’s the feuding brothers from Manchester.

And, to be honest, there aren’t many similarities between the two couples. It’s unlikely that Prince Harry has thrown any TVs out of the window in his time. Nor was Noel Gallagher deployed to Afghanistan for 20 weeks in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps.

So why on Earth has Lorraine Kelly likened the Royal Couple to the Gallagher brothers?

The royal couple visited Brixton’s Reprezent Radio this week, and Lorraine was filming a follow-up piece to see how Harry and Meghan went down, down Electric Avenue.

“You guys meet a lot of famous people coming into the studio, all big music names,” Lorraine asked Reprezent Radio DJs Henrie and Jodeci Chin. “How do they compare to the likes of the Gallagher brothers and people like that?”

Henrie and Jodeci said, “We do meet a lot of people at the station, and you hear their lyrics, so you see what they’re like as a person before you meet them. It was different with Meghan and Harry, but they were so lovely, so genuine and down to earth, like a couple you’d be friends with.”

They also revealed what Meghan smells like up close. “She smells like roses, regal, and just has an air about her, she’s so pretty.”

But it was Lorraine’s comparison of the royal couple to the bad boys of Britpop that left some viewers confused.

“Lorraine actually asking how Harry and Meghan compare to the Gallagher brothers,” tweeted one viewer. “Lorraine comparing the evil Gallagher brothers with royalty. Hmmmmmmm,” tweeted another.

Perhaps there are a few things Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could learn from Noel and Liam – like how to deal with unwanted photographers.

And maybe Noel and Liam will have properly patched things up in time for the Royal Wedding. But don’t bet your last royal pound on it.
