“Veteran reality TV star” is revealed as the latest Dancing On Ice contestant

Sixth celeb confirmed today

| Updated:

He’s appeared on The X Factor and I’m A Celeb and now Jake Quickenden has been revealed as the latest contestant to join Dancing On Ice.

His participation in the ice dancing show, which returns in the New Year, was revealed on today’s Lorraine, where he also works as a presenter.

He joked to Lorraine Kelly that he’s become “a reality TV veteran” but he just couldn’t turn down the chance to do Dancing On Ice when it was offered to him.

He said: “I feel so lucky to be able to do it. I’m buzzing, it’s my mum’s favourite show.”

He added that he’s nervous about doing lifts, which he’s sure will be expected of him as he’s “a big guy”.

While Jake’s fans will be hoping to get a glimpse of his ripped chest on the show, he said it will only be via the tight costumes, as it will be far too cold for him to strip off!

Jake’s appearances on reality TV have so far been life changing. He first found fame on The X Factor, which led to him being invited to take part in I’m A Celeb in 2014 straight after he was voted off the live shows.

He fared much better there with viewers, making it to the final but losing the King of the Jungle crown to Carl Fogarty.

Since then, his career has soared, as well as his private life.

During I’m A Celeb he was introduced to Carl’s daughter, Danielle, and the pair are now engaged to be married.

Jake revealed he recently had a hair transplant as he wants to look his best for the big day.

“It was a preventative measure as my dad lost his hair young,” Jake explained to Lorraine. “I felt anxious about it and I wanted to do something for me so I can feel good at the wedding.”

The revamped Dancing On Ice will be back on ITV soon after a three year break with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby resuming presenting duties.

Torvill and Dean also return, but this time as judges, joining Jason Gardiner.
