Unaired moment from Strictly shows intimate exchange between Mollie and AJ

Saturdays singer gets tearful backstage

It’s been the most talked about “Are they? Aren’t they?” couple of the series, but in a clip of Mollie King and AJ Pritchard posted to the BBC Strictly Twitter account, the pair looked more intimate than ever.

Mollie had one of her most emotional nights on last night’s show, receiving generally negative comments and a low score of 24 for her samba and then her highest score (32) of the series for her Viennese Waltz.

Posted on the official Strictly Twitter account following the show, Mollie and AJ spoke emotionally backstage about their feelings on the two performances.

AJ immediately launched into praise of Mollie’s hard work:

“I’m so proud of you. You train the hardest – you train the most hours of everybody. And it’s your highest score, take that on board.”

Mollie then tearfully explained that nerves had gotten the better of her:

“I just get so nervous, I get into such a state.”

AJ, 23, then comforted Mollie, saying while giving her waist a playful squeeze:

“It didn’t help that you felt like you got destroyed in the samba, but you picked yourself back up and you still went back out there and you did yourself proud.”

The pair achieved the lowest score of the night, earning a total of 56 out of 80 points.

Fans of the young dancing duo are now worried this may be Mollie’s time up on Strictly when the next couple are eliminated in tonight’s semi-finals results show.

Whether this will leave the pair feeling able to go public with their rumoured secret relationship, only time will tell.
