There’s a lot at stake for David Platt in Coronation Street next week, as he finds out what punishment he will face for attacking Gary Windass.

The hairdresser will have spent the last two weeks in prison after missing the initial plea hearing because he had a meltdown over Aidan Connor’s death.

Fans know that the shock news about the factory boss prompted David to confess to Shona Ramsey that he was raped by Josh Tucker on a night out.

David attacked Gary in the aftermath of the rape as it all became too much for him to bear.

But, without knowing any of the reasons behind David’s violent behaviour, what will the judge say?

Following Gary’s testimony in the witness stand, the judge sentences David to 18 months in prison – but suspends the sentence for two years.

David is happy to be back home that night, but rapist Josh isn’t ready to stop tormenting his victim.

As the net closes in on Josh – with Shona tracking down another victim – the mechanic decides to target David’s young son Max.

He tells the schoolboy that David doesn’t love him as much as he loves Lily because he’s Lily’s real dad.

A devastated Max then tells David what Josh has been saying, leaving David shaking with rage.
