THREE soap beauties in line for new Dancing On Ice

They'll all look great on blades

She may have had some big boots to fill when replacing Mary Berry on the Great British Bake Off, but Prue Leith has become a hit with fans of the baking show and now wants to turn her hand to something a little more strenuous.

The 77-year-old South Africa native has expressed an interest in taking part in next year’s series of Dancing On Ice, but her management team have ruled it out.

Speaking to The Daily Star on Sunday, she said: “I was asked if I would do Dancing On Ice. I thought it’d be the perfect way to get fit, lose a lot of weight and learn a new skill.

“I was actually quite excited, but my team said, ‘Absolutely not’.”

She continued: “They told me I was far too old and if I fell over I would break something – and then I thought they were probably right.”

However, still keen to take part in a show that will allow her to show off her moves, the baking connoisseur has her eye on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing – as long as she’d be allowed a little tipple beforehand.

“Maybe Strictly, as that is less dangerous. I’m not a very good dancer though.” she said.

Prue added: “The only time I dance is after a few drinks, so I would have to have a few drinks before the performance. Even then it would just be nan-dancing.”

Dancing On Ice, which is due to start early next year, now has three of Hollyoaks’ finest actresses gearing up to land a spot on the show.

Stephanie Waring, Sarah Jayne Dunn and Anna Passey, three of the soap’s most glamorous stars, are all currently interested in participating in the show, reports claim.

Already confirmed to compete on the ice-skating show, which is relaunching three years after it was axed, are Love Island 2017 winner Kem Cetinay and England cricketing legend Monty Panesar.
