This Morning viewers ‘switch off’ over latest segment

It's not something they'll be trying out

This Morning fans were fed up with Friday’s show when hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes introduced a segment about Halloween.

More specifically, viewers said they were switching off over the idea of being told how to decorate a Halloween Tree.

The spooky season is upon us, with Halloween coming at the end of this month, and Ruth and Eamonn had a guest on who was all about the big decorations for the house.

Most people usually don’t bother with anything more than a pumpkin, but the show was telling us how we could deck our houses out ready for all the trick or treaters.

But some people weren’t at all impressed with the segment and vented their fury on Twitter.

One person said: “#ThisMorning showing you how to make up ‘Halloween trees’ a ‘trend’ they’ve just invented so they could do this piece…”

While another added: “You can shove your so-called Halloween trees where the sun don’t shine.”

“That’s just weird!” said another with a gif attached, and a fourth said “Switches off”.

“Unreasonably infuriated by the #ThisMorning item on ‘Halloween trees’. No no no.” added someone else.

While another called it “Nonsense.”

There were a couple of people who thought it was an ace idea and said they’d be doing it in their own homes.

Last month viewers were outraged over Martin Lewis presenting a Christmas segment on the show.

For many the set up of a Christmas tree, fake snow, and presents, was all just a bit too much.

Even Martin himself knew he’d be set to face a backlash.

“Can I start with a semi-apology for using the ‘C’ word at this time of year,” he said.

“I hate the early creep of Christmas just as much as the next Scrooge, and I hate the idea we’re going to have Jingle Bells in the shops soon.

“But everything I want to talk about today is about things you need to do now in order to take some of the pain and stress and financial burden off when we get to the big day.

“This isn’t about celebrating early, this is about early planning.”

He went on to encourage people to save throughout the year as the average family spend £800 at Christmas.

Giving tips on exactly how to save that kind of cash, including switching bank accounts for payment, Martin was in his element.

Unfortunately, viewers weren’t so keen on hearing his tips so early in the year.

But there were a few who are already excited about Christmas.

They loved the fact the show was talking about it and said it was making them feel “festive”.
