There’s a brand new EastEnders Christmas trailer and it looks explosive

Not everyone's in the Christmas spirit

We already know that this Christmas is set to be an epic one in Walford, with everyone from big boss, John Yorke, to actor, Jake Wood, teasing some unforgettable drama.

And if the new trailer that dropped last night is anything to go by, they aren’t kidding us.

As trailers go it’s pretty brief, but it gives away just enough to tell us that Christmas in Walford is set to be something of a dark affair, thanks to Max Branning and newcomer, Aidan McGuire.

Max and the rest of the Brannings are set to be torn apart over the (not so) festive period as Max’s secrets prove catastrophic for the family.

And Aidan is intent on bringing clean cut Mick Carter into his criminal underworld. Noooooo! Not Mick.

Meanwhile, Linda Carter is determined to throw the party of all parties before her and the clan have to say goodbye to their beloved Queen Vic.

Sharon Mitchell is pretty excited about the ‘good old knees up at the Vic’ which apparently is what ‘Christmas is all about’ – in Walford?? Who’s she kidding?

And sure enough, lurking in the crowded pub as Linda and Mick celebrate renewing their wedding vows is mysterious Aidan, who looks anything but cheery.

Viewers will see him tell the lovable landlord that he’s planted a gun in the pub and has called the police. Will Mick end up spending New Year in the nick?

While the rest of the Square celebrate Christmas in the warmth of the Vic, Max is stood out in the rain – literally outcast by the entire Square.

He’s got a pretty murderous look on his face as well – will he get the ultimate revenge on those who wronged him?

EastEnders bosses have promised that Christmas Day is going to be HUGE this year in Albert Square and it looks like it’s going to be a cracker.

After making enemies with everyone on the Square, Max is surprised to be invited to the Fowlers for Christmas lunch thanks to his last remaining friend, Stacey.

Despite Lauren refusing to have anything to do with her dad, Max manages to win Abi around and she also goes to Stacey’s on the 25th December.

But little do they all know, Jane Beale’s voicemail that reveals everything Max has been up to, is sitting like a ticking time bomb – just waiting to go off.

The truth about Max being responsible for Steven’s death, plus the fact that he nearly killed Jane and then ran her out of Walford, is yet another huge secret Mr Branning has been keeping from everyone.

And it’s all there in Jane’s voicemail that she left for Stacey on her last day in Albert Square back in October.

Max’s youngest daughter, Abi, is even pregnant with Steven’s child – but how will she feel when she discovers her own dad killed the father of her baby?

When Stacey is reunited with her missing phone on Christmas Day – it looks like the secret message will play a major part in the festive episode.

Is that why Max is looking so venomous in the trailer?

Whatever goes down, it’s certainly a Christmas visit to Walford you won’t want to miss.
