The latest names in the frame for this autumn’s I’m A Celebrity!

It's already shaping up to be a vintage year

As the show gears up to return to our screens, the I’m A Celeb rumour mill is back in full swing.

It’s hard to believe it’s set to be the SEVENTEENTH series of the show, which sees celebrities enduring tortuous tasks in order to win food and privileges (and revive careers).

Ant and Dec are both pretty much confirmed to be returning to the jungle after rumours swirled around whether or not Ant will be back after a recent stint in rehab.

ITV controller Kevin Lygo said during the August 2017 Edinburgh International TV Festival: “Ant is doing really well and we are expecting him to return for I’m a Celebrity.”

It just wouldn’t be the same without those two!

As for who they will be chuckling at from the comfort of their studio, some of the latest speculation lists celebs such as Vanessa White, formerly of The Saturdays.

Another potential campmate is Gogglebox star Sandra Martin. The show faced criticism in crown.

Former Liverpool footballer Jamie Carragher is also tipped for a trip down under, along with American actress Koo Stark.

Koo is known for an alleged romance with Prince Andrew back in the ‘80s, so ITV bosses are keen to have her on board to spill the royal beans.

Rugby star Ben Cohen is another name being bandied about – having already survived bone-breaking reality show The Jump, getting into a pit of creepy crawlies should be a breeze.

Speaking to The Sun in June, a source said that “Ben’s name was straight on the list for this year”.

Ryan Thomas is said to be following in his brother’s footsteps by heading into the jungle, while his girlfriend Lucy Mecklenburgh’s former TOWIE co-star Danielle Armstrong is also on the rumour list.

Another potential name is Rebekah Vardy, wife of footballer Jamie. A source revealed to The Sun: “Bosses were really keen on Becky last year and had some very productive discussions.

“They are planning to have another chat with her this year.”

After it emerged last month that ‘Muggy Mike’ Thalassitis of Love Island fame might be in the running following a U-Turn on the ‘no reality stars’ rule, it seems a fellow Islander may be joining him.

Island villain Jonny Mitchell is also set to head into the jungle, as a source said in August: “Bosses said he would be the perfect hunk for the show and have asked him to come for a meeting.”

He’ll feel right at home among all those snakes!
