If Alanis Morissette wrote Ironic now she’d probably do a verse about Strictly Come Dancing. Because when you go on that show not looking to meet someone, you will absolutely 100% meet someone.
Luckily the latest romance looks like it’s between two single, non-married people.
According to The Sun, something’s going on between Gemma Atkinson and her fellow Strictly star Gorka Marquez, with the pair unable to keep away from each other at rehearsals. And that is one hot, seriously fit couple.
Apparently Gem and Gorka hit it off initially at his birthday meal, where the former Emmerdale actress was the only star invited, after they bonded over, er, fitness tips. Sure, that’s who we’d invite for dinner. The one we chatted to about fitness tips.
BUT ANYWAY, a source told the paper: “There is definitely something developing — everyone can see there’s an obvious attraction.”

The potential relationship comes despite Gemma saying all she could focus on was her moves and she definitely wasn’t interested in a fella.
“No, gosh! I’m just hoping not to fall at the end of the dance!” she said in an earlier interview.
“That’s all that’s on my mind at the minute.”

Gemma, 32, doesn’t dance on the show with Gorka, 27, but is partnered with Aljaz Skorjanec. Meanwhile Gorka is partnered with singer Alexandra Burke.
If Gem and Gorka do become a real-life couple though, they’ll follow in the footsteps of Matt di Angelo and Flavia Cacace, Georgia May Foote and Giovanni Pernice, Ben Cohen and Kristina Rihanoff and probably about 35 more we can’t remember.
A lot of those have given birth to the term Strictly Curse, which is said to have ended a whole load of happy relationships, most recently Louise and Jamie Redknapp – though there is no suggestion that Louise had a relationship with anyone on the show but that whole drama seems to be because she now likes pubs and Daisy Lowe.
Gem herself has her theories about why the ‘curse’ might happen.
“I guess that’s what it is about the curse – you have to dance sexually and that,” she said at the recent Strictly press day.

“It’s so mortifying actually – they got us in a room together and we had to dance with the partners, every single one, and you have to just dance with them, have body contact with them, that you’ve just met.”
Less mortifying is one of them could be your BRAND NEW BOYFRIEND, Gem. Just saying.
