Tess Daly suffers distracting wardrobe malfunction on Strictly

Viewers noticed something about her outfit wasn't quite right

| Updated:

Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daly showed off more than intended in her nude playsuit on last night’s episode, which highlighted her, ahem, assets.

Despite the dazzling outfits and elaborate routines that the programme is famed for, it would seem Tess’s nipples were the real stars in the Saturday night show, thanks to her outfit’s clingy material.

The 48-year-old model and presenter seemed unaware of the problem, as she did not undergo an outfit change and did not seem uncomfortable while filming.

However, viewers of the BBC One show were quick to comment on Twitter, describing Tess’ nipples as “really distracting”.

Other Twitter users joked that, due to the arrangement of Tess’ clothing, they looked “wonky”.

Uh oh! Poor Tess – someone from the wardrobe team definitely should have told her what was going on. Although a slight hint isn’t going to kill anyone…right?

Nipple chaos aside, the 15th series of Strictly has got off to a brilliant start, attracting 9.4 million viewers in its first live episode – almost five million more than its rival ITV show, X Factor.

This year’s line-up features chef Simon Rimmer, former The Saturdays singer Mollie King and Holby City actress Chizzy Akudolu.

In last night’s episode, singer Alexandra Burke topped the leaderboard doing a paso doble dance, while newsreader Charlotte Hawkins came joint last place along with vicar Reverend Richard Coles.

Meanwhile, Liverpudlian Simon Rimmer had audiences feeling emotional: he performed a waltz to Rodgers and Hammerstein hit and Liverpool FC anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone..

Before the show, he told BBC Two spin-off programme It Takes Two: “I am genuinely concerned I may have a few tears at the end of it.”

And he was right, head judge Shirley Ballas was very emotional after the dance and gave the TV chef a hug.
