Strictly Come Dancing ‘rejected’ by 21 celebs for next series as they are terrified of the curse

But one Coronation Street star is game!

Gorgeous Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley is said to be already lined up for the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Catherine, who plays Eva Price in the show, is leaving the cobbles later this year so it’s the ideal time for her to sign up for Strictly to really boost her profile.

“We all know Catherine ticks all the boxes for the line-up and what a character she would be on the show,” a source told the Daily Star.

“To be honest, she has been desperately keen to get on Strictly for a while but it’s not been possible with her Corrie contract and the awkwardness of ITV allowing people to cross to the rival channel.”

If Catherine does join Strictly, she’d be following in the dancing footsteps of former Corrie co-stars Natalie Gumede, Georgia May Foote, and Ray Fearon.

But other soap stars are among a growing list of celebs who are said to have turned down appearing on the glittering reality show.

Apparently, lots of stars are too scared to take part now because they’re worried about the infamous Strictly curse!

According to reports, 21 stars have turned down the chance to dance on the show including soap stars Lacey Turner (who plays Stacey Fowler in EastEnders), Alison King (aka Carla Connor), and former Enders star Martine McCutcheon.

“Strictly used to be the show no celebrity turned down, but the curse has changed all that,” a source told The Sun.

“There is now a genuine concern that appearing on the show can negatively impact relationships.”

Luckily it seems Catherine isn’t bothered by talk of the curse – we look forward to seeing her on the dancefloor if the rumours are proved to be true.
