Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas enrages viewers with another gaffe

The head judge found herself in hot water with viewers again

Strictly Come Dancing viewers have blasted Shirley Ballas for forgetting Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The head judge told Ruth Langsford and Anton Du Beke that there “wouldn’t be a household in England who hadn’t enjoyed their performance” – seemingly forgetting the existence of Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish viewers.

Ballroom legend Shirley was quickly taken to task with countless viewers venting their fury at the gaffe-prone judge’s comment.

One thundered: “So Shirley is basically saying nobody else apart from England watches [expletive] the rest of us then #strictly”

“It would be great if Shirley could remember that some of us watching Strictly are not just in England !!#Strictly,” tweeted a fourth.

Others pointed out that Shirley’s gaffe was particularly insensitive to Scottish Strictly contestants Joe McFadden and Susan Calman.

One tweeted: “Another faux pas from Shirley! Does Scotland not get strictly? ‘Every household in England’ Not impressed! Susan and Joe are Scottish!”
