Strictly Christmas special ruined after winner leaked online

Show's bosses are reportedly furious at the leak

The super-sparkly Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special was filmed yesterday.

And within hours of the show finishing, news of who wins the festive episode was leaked on a spoiler website – making bosses furious that the results had been revealed.

Strictly’s festive special is a favourite TV choice on December 25 and has been for several years – it’s become as much a part of the day as the Christmas EastEnders or the Queen’s Speech.

So a spoiler being posted online is a big disappointment to BBC bosses.

Lucky audience members at Strictly are sworn to secrecy about the results, whether it’s the regular weekend shows or the Christmas special.

But one leaky website has posted the results already.

The spoiler site in question has previously posted information ahead of transmission and recently told The Daily Star:

“It is the BBC who make the spoiler possible. If they don’t want the result to leak, there is something very simple they can do to stop it – broadcast it live.”

The Christmas line-up features returning Strictly contestants Jeremy Vine, Kimberley Walsh, Colin Jackson, Robbie Savage, Judy Murray and Katie Derham.

As well as professional dancers Pasha Kovalev, Karen Clifton, Brendan Cole, Amy Dowden, Diane Buswell and Neil Jones.

Strictly was approached by the MailOnline about the leak, but declined to comment.

We’re not going to reveal the winner here, because not everyone will want to know before the big day.

And we’re still looking forward to seeking the glittering Christmas special on the day itself.
