Strictly’s Charles and Karen vow to get matching tattoos if they reach the final

Couple have survived the dance-off three times

Strictly Come Dancing pair Charles Venn and Karen Clifton have vowed to get matching tattoos if they reach the final.

The couple would follow in the footsteps of quiz show host Susan Calman who became the show’s first celebrity to get an inking to mark her time on the 2017 series.

Professional dancer Karen told RadioTimes.com: “If we get to the final, we’re both getting a tattoo. We’re both getting ‘S’.”

Asked what the letter stood for, she revealed: “‘S’ for Strictly, six pack and success.”

Charles added: “There you go, that’s right. Done deal.”

He also spoke of how he appreciated being seen as a sex symbol despite the fact he’s no spring chicken.

“You know what, if at 45 I can still get those kind of compliments I will take that.

“I will embrace them all, because at some point you’re going to get old, really old, and at some point people are going to be looking to the young ‘uns.

“So to still feel that you have that effect on people at my age, I know 45 in the grand scheme of things is young but the other day I was 22… to get those lovely compliments from ladies generally is, we all want to feel appreciated. So I take that with open arms.”

Charles has landed in the dreaded dance-off three times but has survived elimination each time with the judges voting in his favour.

He has since won over viewers to make it into the quarter-finals.

The pair are performing the rumba to West Side Story’s Maria on Saturday night’s show.

Earlier this year, Susan Calman fulfilled her own promise to get a tattoo if she made it to Blackpool with pro-partner Kevin Clifton, who has separated from ex-wife Karen.
