Stephanie Davis to host TV show on domestic violence awareness

The actress hopes to change women's lives by sharing her experiences

Stephanie Davis is in talks to front a TV show about domestic violence after her ex-boyfriend Jeremy McConnell was found guilty of assaulting her.

The actress and reality star says she wants to raise awareness about domestic abuse in a documentary.

TV companies are supposedly interested in using the 24-year-old’s first-hand experience to give an insight into domestic abuse.

A source close to the troubled actress says: “Steph wants to use her very public battle with Jeremy for good – she wants to make a show that helps people who are going through what she had to live through.”

The former Hollyoaks star is also hoping to connect with domestic abuse charities to try and warn other women to avoid ending up in the same situation.

Stephanie’s spokesperson said: “We are looking at a number of media options for Stephanie.

“Supporting domestic violence charities and organisations is absolutely on our priority list for Stephanie, she wishes to raise awareness and stop women going through what she has.”

Stephanie said after the trial that she wanted to “rebuild” her life after what’s been a very tumultuous couple of years.

Tattooed model Jeremy, 28, was found guilty on Monday of beating Stephanie at her home in Liverpool. The court heard Steph was holding their baby son Caben, at the time.

Jeremy was bailed and will be sentenced on Friday, with rumours the judge will make an example of him and put him behind bars.

The longest time he could be put away for assault by beating is six months.

Stephanie broke down in tears while giving evidence on Monday, claiming Jeremy threw her about “like a rag doll” in a cocaine-fuelled assault after partying together in March.

She claimed Jeremy accused her of having a lesbian affair with a friend and using a sex toy. Apparently, he also accused her of cheating on him with a fireman neighbour.

Stephanie also said Jeremy had even threatened her with acid.

Jeremy had claimed self-defence.

Reaching a verdict in 15 minutes, Judge Wendy Lloyd found Jeremy guilty and said: “Mr McConnell may prefer to think he acted in self defence. I believe his judgement was totally clouded by drugs and alcohol.”

Outside court, Stephanie’s legal team spoke on her behalf, saying they were pleased with the verdict.

“We are delighted with the decision in court today and are pleased that justice has been done – we await the decision on Friday and the appropriate sentencing.”
