Being beautiful is such a burden.
Well, that’s according to Dawn Cousins, 44, who appeared on This Morning on Wednesday to lament the fact she’s finding it hard to date because she’s too attractive.
The mum-of-four said there were “various” reasons she is still single, before listing them for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
“One, I’m a very attractive woman, number two, I look very young, and number three, I’m very fun and I’m not your typical 44-year-old woman with four children,” she said.

“I’m finding younger guys are messaging me wanting to take me out but they just want me because I’m hot. And older guys don’t put any effort into themselves yet want me to send them pictures of me looking good and want to look at my body.”
Dawn said her adult kids had suggested she lower her standards, but she refused, explaining: “I have the advantage of looking good so I want someone I’m really attracted to, really connect to emotionally, and I want to enjoy that second part of my life.”
“I don’t want to settle because I’m 44 and not married,” she added.
“I’m not looking for Mr Perfect. No one is perfect and I’m not perfect. I’m looking for a guy who is willing to work on himself and understand a woman’s needs.
“I need everything, the full package. I need to be stimulated in my mind, every part of me needs to feel like a princess every day.
“If that’s wrong, that’s wrong. I’ll stay on my own, get a cat and be happy. I’m not going to live my life with someone I’m not attracted to. I could get a rich man – I’m not in denial – I could get a rich man with a nice job, I’m not attracted to and live a comfortable life.
“But money doesn’t buy happiness. Physical contact buys me happiness: a hug, an embrace, love.”
Holly and Phil seemed rather taken aback by Dawn’s confidence, leading Holly to gently ask if she’d thought about toning it down to find love.
Dawn’s answer? No. “Then I’d be false and I wouldn’t be able to keep it up. This is what I am and I can’t help it. It’s in my DNA.”
Meanwhile, Phillip had some words of advice, telling her: “Being in a relationship and dating isn’t all about looks, it’s about personality too. You’re a very confident woman, there’s no question about that.
“It’s got to be intimidating and I’ve got to say, really rather unattractive, for a man to hear a woman be that confident. ‘I am gorgeous, I am hot, I am too good for you’. Maybe that’s why you’re single?”
Needless to say, viewers flocked to social media to share their views on Dawn’s reasons for being single, with many people saying it was her attitude, not looks, that was the problem.
Others, however, applauded Dawn’s attitude of not settling and said she has every right to want the best for herself – and be proud of who she is.
