Kathy Beale considers leaving Walford as Ben Mitchell faces turmoil

Not when we've just got them back surely?

Will Kathy Beale be leaving Albert Square again?

After her ‘return from the dead’ in 2015, next week sees the mum of Ian Beale and Ben Mitchell considering disappearing from the Square again, but this time it could be for good.

Fresh from winning her Outstanding Achievement Award at this week’s Inside Soap awards, actress Gillian Taylforth revealed to Metro.co.uk at the awards ceremony that there is plenty coming up to keep us on the edge of our seats.

“Obviously there is the aftermath of things going on, things that Ian and Phil get involved with.”

“There’s a fall out from it all, but that’s all I can tell you.”

There are shocks all round when her character’s son, Ben Mitchell learns that his mum was raped by property mogul James Willmott-Brown.

So when Kathy finds out that Willmott-Brown is the father of her son’s latest love, Luke Browning, she does not want Ben to find out, which can only mean Phil having to deal with the situation.

Now, subtlety isn’t Phil’s greatest trait  is it, which could lead to a whole world of pain coming Ben’s way, especially when Phil gives Luke an angry warning to stay away from his son.

But when Ben discovers Phil’s interference, he’s not happy and goes nuts at his dad, but staying loyal to Kathy, Phil remains quiet on the reasons he threatened Luke.

Until seeing the anger it’s causing, Kathy realises her secret can’t be why the pair fall out again and tells Ben everything, leaving him reeling.

Hoping that Ben will finish with Luke could be too much to expect, but Kathy is left preparing to flee Walford forever when Ben comes face to face with Willmott-Brown.

Whaaaaaaaaaat?

Explaining to Ian that she can no longer be around Ben, Ian has a big battle on his hands trying to find out the reason why his mum wants to leave again, and if he can persuade her to stay.

Will Kathy leave her boys on their own again?

We can’t wait to find out.
