He might be a nice guy, but Shaun Williamson’s attempt at comedy on last night’s Celebrity Big Brother didn’t go down too well with viewers.
Oh, those telly watchers are just so hard to please, aren’t they?
After he had been “roasted” by Mob Wives’ star Marissa Jade and Brandi Glanville from Real Housewives in the CBB talent show, Shaun, who did a dramatic performance with Paul Danan, headed to the diary room for a bit of banter with Big Brother.

Announcing he had already jotted down some soundbites, he launched into a strangely humourless string of comments which he found hard to read off his sheet of notes.
“So tonight was the talent show, I got roasted, I think I got spit roasted, metaphorically by Marissa and Brandi,” he said, “so hopefully I won’t get whacked.’
With no reaction from Big Brother, he then went on to poke fun at Chad Johnson.
“So we got a new housemate tonight which is exciting – Chad. Welcome to the party Chad. I thought who’s that running around looking like Hugh Jackman with his seven pack out.”
Er… Silence.
He then launched an attack on Jemma Lucy and Trisha who performed a strange act together where they tasted things off each other in their underwear!
“So Trisha and Jemma’s act. There’s probably been more unsexy cabaret acts in history. I can’t think of one off hand and I’ve been in the navy,” he said, straight-faced.
“I think it gives new meaning to a tasting menu. It could catch on, but who knows.”

Although he was obviously amused by his own comments, viewers didn’t find Shaun’s comedy patter particularly amusing.
One said: “Barry in the diary room doing ‘comedy’ soundbites was so cringeworthy.”
Another sniped: “The moment you realise that Barry had more bants than Shaun.”
A third admitted that they were amused by Shaun’s chat but only because it was so embarrassing.
“I’m enjoying these little Barry one-liners but only coz they are genuinely awful and he has put so much effort in CBB.”
