Seven reasons Jack and Dani MUST win Love Island

We are all in love with them!

We’re almost half way through this series of Love Island and there’s only one couple we are really rooting for so far: Jack and Dani.

The smitten kittens appeared to fall for each other the minute they coupled up at the start of the run, and viewers have been captivated by their slow burner of a relationship ever since.

While Megan and Eyal and Wes and Laura have all done “bits” over the past few weeks, Dani and Jack have remained very innocent indeed.

And what a breath of fresh air they are in a world where people shag like rabbits within seconds of saying “hello, what’s your name?”

And last night viewers’ hearts were filled with joy when Jack finally bucked up enough courage to tell his beloeved that he wanted them to be an official couple.

Dani’s reaction in the beach hut afterwards was so enchanting that we just wanted to give her big bear hug: “I’ve not had has this with someone for such along time,” she said. “It’s so overwhelming. I’m so lucky to have that with someone. I can’t believe it, I’m actually in shock. I’ve GOT A BOYFRIEND! What do you do?”

And when the pair went off to inform the others about their news – well, don’t get us started. It was like a cute scene from Grease.

Although we still have weeks to go before the big Love Island final we want Dani and Jack win! And here are our reasons why…

1. THEY ARE ACTUALLY IN LOVE

Jack and Dani just seem so genuinely and totally enamoured with each other. No sooner were they coupled up than they kind of instantly turned into an old married couple, chatting away about stuff like they’d known each other for years!

We loved it when she told that him she would stop moaning about him not shutting the drawers. And how we laughed when she sweetly shut him down after he suggested she fold his pants with the super lush response “don’t take the piss. Let’s walk not jump!”

2. HE’S A BIG SOFTIE

This handsome pen salesman might come across as a bit of a lad, but he is certainly no horny game player like big bad Adam! He is, it appears, a sorted lovely guy who treats his girl with respect.

Remember that morning in the villa when he got Adam to help him make Dani a breakfast of tasty avocado and eggs on toast and then cheekily claimed that he’d prepared it?

And then there was the time he saw Dani on the stairs and told her she was beautiful for no reason other than to say it and make her day. And let’s not forget that other time when he made their bed and left a wee rose on the pillow. It put a smile on Dani’s face and a smile in our hearts!

3. DANI IS SUCH AN INNOCENT EXPERIENCING FEELINGS FOR THE FIRST TIME

Everything seems so new in bright-eyed Dani’s sunny world which is super cute for us at home. Who didn’t feel all gooey inside when Dani was describing her seafront date with Jack and how he was the first boy she’d ever sat on a beach with.

And how sweet did she sound when she said: “I am just looking at him a little bit more and think, ‘Oh you look really handsome.’ I’m stupid.” Also, is it just us, or do you love the innocent way they kiss? No tongues, just lovely innocent pecks. Though we were giggling when they enjoyed their first proper kiss in the villa! Too cute!

4. THEY’VE OVERCOME RELATIONSHIP OBSTACLES

We love the fact that even though they are a tight couple now, they had a bit of a wobble at the start and managed to get past dodgy bumps in the road. Just like real life.

When Jack admitted to cheating on his girlfriends in the past (which came to a grand total of two), Dani was obviously wary. But as time went on and she could see that he was a decent bloke, she forgave his past indiscretions which can only make their relationship stronger.

5. THEY HAVE REAL PERSONALITY

A lot of viewers have commented this year that the couples, while gorgeous, just aren’t as colourful as last year! Granted, last year was a hard act to follow with Amber and Kem, Chris and Olivia, Camilla and Jamie and the love triangle that was Muggy Mike, Tyla and Jonny! This year, we’re not exactly spoilt for choice.

Adam is a looker but he’s a player with no chat. Eyal spouts a lot of mystic gibberish alongside his flashy pecs and curls; and don’t get us started on Dr Alex.

The girls aren’t much better. But these two have a way about them, something that is incredibly captivating. With their broad Cockney accents and naivety they sound refreshingly young and innocent and wide-eyed, which again in this cynical world is absolutely a must.

6) WE WANT JACK TO MEET HIS POTENTIAL FATHER-IN-LAW

There’s been much talk about what Dani’s dad, er, Danny must be thinking about their burgeoning relationship in the villa. Luckily, if his social media posts are anything to go by, the EastEnders hardman seems to be very relaxed about the cute union.

As Jack asked Dani to be his girlfriend in Sunday’s show, the wide-boy actor tweeted: “I know she’s doing well… holding her own and all that… but it’s gotta be declared… I proper miss my baby girl now…”

What a softie, eh? But still any sane fella would be scared to meet a father with a rep like Danny’s.

So we can’t wait for Dani and Jack to come home hand in hand to see Danny finally come face to face with Jack.

But props to Jack – he has made a good play to impress his potential future father-in-law.

During his ‘girlfriend’ proposal the charmer said: “You mean more to me now. Before, I knew I really liked you, but this time it’s different.

“I told you, I’ve really got feelings for you. Honestly, I meant it. I mean it. I really do feel like it’s the start of something with us two.”

And to get her parents on side he pulled a blinder by saying: “You are their daughter and I want them to like me because I’ll be spending loads of time with you. So I want them to go ‘he’s alright’.

Thankfully Dani reassured him he had nothing to worry about: “I definitely think they’ll like you, there’s no reason to not like you, is there?”

Later she too pulled at viewers’ heart strings when she said in the beach hut: “I hope my dad’s happy. Me and my dad, we’re still going to go for sushi and that. Because Jack doesn’t like that. My dad’s got my first place in my heart. And Jack can have the second.”

7) THEY ARE GREAT ROLE MODELS

What’s been refreshing in this world of reality dating shows is that the swoonsome twosome have taken things slowly and haven’t done anything that would make their nearest and dearest blush.

While of course there is an element of sexual tension between the two, they are very much driven by the strong bond they formed since meeting as opposed to the desire of quenching their insatiable sexual desire.

Of course, that is not to say that idea of sex doesn’t rear its ugly head, but it’s always so cute with these two.

When Jack confided in the boys about how Dani was making him feel a wee bit aroused we couldn’t help but laugh when he said: “I’m [expletive] sexually frustrated now. I need to wear harem pants or a sarong so no one can see it.

“I was laying by the pool earlier having a chat, and obviously I’m laying flat down, and it’s kicking off, and I thought, ‘I can’t get up. I’m just gonna have to lay here for a bit’.”

Aww! We hope they have a Happy Ever After… (but this is Love Island!)
