Ruth Langsford makes a public confession about Loose Women colleague Stacey Solomon

But should there be an apology?

Some clichés are there for a reason – as shown by Ruth Langsford’s devious yet traditional behaviour behind the scenes on Loose Women.

The presenter posted a video to Instagram confessing to the classic crime of clothes stealing – claiming the jumper she wore on today’s show was meant for co-host Stacey Solomon.

In the video – posted so Loose Women viewers know how to copy the look without resorting to theft – Ruth outlines each item of clothing, starting with the jumper.

“For those of you asking,” she said, “my jumper today is from a company called Jumper 1234 – I think it’s an online company.”

She went on to make a full confession of her crimes.

“Actually, I think this was meant for Stacey,” she said, “because, you know, she always wears lots of lovely jumpers, but I nicked it off the rail!

“Sorry, Stace!”

Acting as if she hadn’t just admitted to a dastardly crime, Ruth went on to give the details for the rest of her outfit – which included trousers from Hobbs and shoes from Next.

She repeated her confession in the video’s caption, saying: “Rarely wear a striped jumper but I really like the colours in this one by @jumper1234uk.

“Think it was really meant for @staceysolomon but I got there first!!”

Stacey has yet to respond to the confession, but she is surely as aware as anyone that interchangeable wardrobes is one of the benefits of having friends and colleagues who wear the same size.
