Phillip Schofield blasted for his over-inflated ego on This Morning

Viewers weren't impressed

| Updated:

This Morning has really got into the spirit of Halloween with all of its hosts and co-stars dressing up in spectacular costumes for the day.

The one we had to wait the longest for was Phillip Schofield who was made over as the Night King from Game Of Thrones – and fans weren’t impressed that the show was centred around him.

Earlier in the morning the first part of the show had been obviously prerecorded as Phillip had been Snapchatting his makeover from backstage, yet he and Holly were still presenting the show on screen.

Viewers weren’t happy about the apparent ‘cheating’, but then Rylan Clark-Neal and Alison Hammond took over so Holly and Phil could finish off getting ready.

Rylan and Alison were dressed as Disney villains Malificent (or Male-ificent as Rylan fashioned himself) and Ursula.

One by one, other members of the This Morning family came out of a coffin, including Alice Beer as Wonder Woman, Doctor Chris as Donald Trump, and agony aunt Deirdre as Yoda.

Holly was then revealed to be living a lifelong dream as she came out dressed as a unicorn. A zombie unicorn no less.

But it was Phil we were kept waiting another 15 minutes for as they went on and on about his amazing makeover and how good it was going to be.

When he eventually emerged, he was in full costume as the Night King, and spent the rest of the show keeping in character by not even speaking because in GoT the Night King doesn’t speak. Anything Phil had to say was done via voiceover.

His voiceover revealed the costume had been “weeks in the planning, the whole team who put the Night King together for HBO and Game of Thrones have been working with me.”

While many fans called the costume amazing, and said Phil had won Halloween, others were a bit fed up of the show being centred around him and his ego.

Some people however weren’t convinced it was Phil under all that make up at all.

Their reasoning? He was too short!

But when Phil was trying to remain silent and was struggling very hard not to laugh, it soon became clear it was him.

We think he looked fantastic and so did legions of other show fans, who tweeted their awe at how amazing he looked.
