Paddy Wallace, aka Corrie’s Jude Appleton, hints at scary future storyline

Is another rapist heading to Weatherfield?

| Updated:

Coronation Street’s Paddy Wallace has warned that ANOTHER sex offender could be heading to Weatherfield.

The actor, who plays Jude Appleton, recently revealed that his rapist father might well be joining the soap.

And we don’t think our nerves could bear it!

Jude recently discovered that his mum Mary was raped when she was a teen. He was born as a result of the distressing attack and put up for adoption.

But they were reunited in emotional scenes which aired last year.

Their joy might be short-lived, however, as Paddy has hinted that his character’s father may be the next villain to turn up in the show.

The actor told the Daily Star: “Maybe my dad could appear. That’s a story that could be explored.

“A few truths are going to start to come back.’’

Eek!

If Mary’s attacker did arrive on Coronation Street, he would be following in the footsteps of rapist Josh Tucker.

Josh recently raped David Platt in scenes that prompted more than one hundred complaints to Ofcom.

Other hard-hitting storylines have included serial killer Pat Phelan’s rampage, a sexual grooming gang and, of course, vicar Billy Mayhew’s addiction to heroin.

Victoria Ekanoye, who plays Jude’s wife Angie, said the screen couple have a few skeletons hidden in the cupboard.

“There’s a few secrets that are going to come out,” she said.
