Ofcom flooded with complaints over behaviour in I’m A Celebrity jungle

Things are getting out of hand now

Television regulatory body Ofcom have reportedly been flooded with complaints over the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! ‘bullying’ scandal.

Viewers have accused former footballer Dennis Wise of bullying fellow campmate Iain Lee.

Ofcom have revealed to The Mirror there have been 129 complaints about how Iain has been treated during the series.

There was an uncomfortable situation earlier this week where Dennis told Iain he shouldn’t take part in the next Bushtucker Trial as he’d failed twice before.

Iain himself hasn’t made any comment about being bullied and an ITV spokesman has told The Mirror:

“The welfare of all our celebrities is of utmost importance and we’ve not witnessed nor had any complaints of bullying from any of them.”

Last night Dennis was voted off the show after facing Amir Khan in the bottom two.

But show hosts Ant and Dec were then slammed for Dennis’s exit interview after viewers were left disappointed that they failed to address the bullying situation.

Ant and Dec only briefly touched upon the reaction by asking him about his general behaviour.

Dennis said: “The thing about it, the next day, Iain done a trial and I said to Iain because I realise there’s people in there who want to promote themselves and go onto other things.

“Amir’s in there, he’s going to go onto box again, I’m going to do some property things again.

“I listened to Iain’s letter and then I was like Iain go and do the trial then because I know you want to go there and go and promote yourself.

“He wanted to do it but the day before he said he didn’t want to do it.”

However, viewers were not impressed with Dennis’ words after it was revealed Iain was doing the show to pay for his elderly mother’s care home fees.

One tweeted: “Soft #ImACeleb interview for Dennis Wise after he basically humiliated Iain. Glad it’s clear he was ‘doing it all to help Iain get airtime’ though. So selfless. What a guy.”

Another said: “Weak interview by Ant and Dec, Dennis’ bullying has been most talked about issue on the show for days and they just skimmed over it?! #ImACeleb”

A third tweeted: “@imacelebrity @antanddec worst interview ever! Why on earth didn’t you question Dennis’s behaviour towards Iain? Pretty upsetting to watch to be honest #imaceleb #ImACelebrity”

“Poor interview with Dennis by Ant and Dec, skirted around the issue of the way he’s been treating Iain #ImACelebrity,” said a fourth.

Dennis’s elimination means that Iain, Jennie McAlpine, Toff, Jamie Lomas and Amir Khan make up the final five.
