It’s comedy Marmite – viewers either love it dearly or hate it with a passion – and Mrs Brown’s Boys could soon be toast!
Brendan O’Carroll, who created the Irish sitcom and plays Mammy Agnes Brown, has hinted that it could come to an end in 2020.
Brendan reportedly wants to concentrate on spin-off chat show All Round To Mrs Brown’s.
He told Daily Star: “It’s becoming more of a sitcom and more of our characters are creeping into the show.”
But if the BBC decides they don’t want more of Mammy full-stop, Brendan, 62, has warned that he’ll kill her off.

In an interview with the tabloid, he said: “We are booked to do Christmas specials for the BBC until 2020 but if they go, ‘We are going to drop you as we don’t think it’s strong enough’ then I’d kill Agnes off.
“Our final episode would be the funniest show I’ve ever written for the first 24 minutes. Then the last four minutes would break your feckin’ heart.”
The polarising series began in 2011 and has enjoyed massive success, with last year’s festive special the second-most watched programme on Christmas Day.
Since its launch, there have been three BBC series, tour Mammy Sutra, film Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie and the aforementioned spin-off, which has welcomed the likes of Holly Willoughby and Ross Kemp to the set.

The programme has been shown around the globe. We can imagine the Beeb giving up on this cash cow for the foreseeable.
