He was more than a week late

| Updated:

Former Love Island contestant Emma-Jane Woodhams has announced the birth of her baby boy.

Taking to Instagram to share the news, Emma-Jane, who appeared in the 2016 series of the ITV2 dating show, posted a cute picture of the newborn.

And incredibly, the labour lasted a “savage” 52 hours, with the boy weighing in at a healthy 7lbs 13oz.

Although he still doesn’t have a name, Emma-Jane had shared back on January 13th that it was the baby’s due date.

Meaning that the tot was over a week late!

Emma-Jane captioned the shot: “So… finally after a savage 52 hour labour my baby boy graced the world with his presence…

“Very health 7lb 13oz, natural delivery @16:12 the best moment of my life.

“We are both doing very well – still no name”.

Emma-Jane became pregnant with her childhood sweetheart Jordan Bye’s baby five months after splitting from her partner on Love Island, Terry Walsh.

And she’d excitedly updated fans on her social media accounts about every step of the pregnancy.

Emma-Jane didn’t make it to the final of Love Island in 2016, with that series being won by Nathan Massey and Cara De La Hoyde.

Since appearing on the ITV2 show, Emma-Jane has co-founded a fitness app and spearheaded fashion campaigns.

But for now, all of that takes a back seat as she adjusts to motherhood – we can’t wait to learn the name!
