Love Island star breaks silence after arrest

She failed a roadside breath test

| Updated:

Love Island star Chloe Crowhurst has been charged with drink-driving after failing a breath test last weekend.

The 22-year-old was pulled over on Sunday afternoon after a concerned member of the public reportedly called the police.

Sussex Police later issued a statement to The Sun saying: “At 12.20pm on Sunday 5 November, police received a report of a driver suspected to be under the influence of alcohol leaving the Holiday Inn in Haslett Avenue East, Crawley.

“Officers located and stopped a silver Ford KA matching the description of the vehicle reported in Hawth Avenue, and the driver was required to undertake a roadside breath test, which she failed.

“Chloe Crowhurst, 22, a TV employee of Romford, Havering, was arrested and charged with driving with 50mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system.”

She will appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on November 20.

The legal limit for driving in England is 35mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath.

A representative of Chloe’s later spoke to The Mirror about the reality star’s arrest.

She said: “Initially, I would like to apologise on behalf of Chloe for her error in judgement.

“Chloe is fully aware that her public profile comes hand in hand with responsibility, and at this stage does not want to comment beyond offering her sincerest apologies to her family, friends and supporters for any embarrassment she may have caused.”

The blonde star appeared on this summer’s Love Island.

It was claimed at the time she’d dumped her boyfriend, TOWIE’s Jon Clark, in order to qualify for the series – although she insisted she was single when she signed up.

However, she didn’t find love on the show and The Sun claimed last week that Chloe and Jon are back together.

Chloe has not yet spoken out herself about the incident.

She appeared at last night’s ITV Gala in London, along with the likes of Katie Price and Holly Willoughby, just hours before the news became public.
