Love Island SPOILER: Adam apologises to Rosie after ditching her for Zara

Adam's told Rosie he never wanted to upset her

Love Island’s Adam Collard has done a U-Turn and apologised to former partner Rosie Williams for his behaviour.

Viewers know that Adam ditched Rosie in favour of newcomer Zara McDermott just days after he and Rosie got intimate in bed, a move that left a heartbroken Rosie sobbing that he’d embarrassed her.

Initially, Adam had insisted he’d done nothing wrong but after Sam Bird arrived at the villa on Thursday and called him out on his behaviour, it seems Adam’s been having second thoughts.

In Friday night’s episode Adam pulls Rosie to one side to apologise for what’s happened between them.

Adam tells her: “I think that obviously things with me and you haven’t really worked out the best. I’m sorry. I am actually sorry if you felt that way. Whatever you felt, I’m sorry that I upset you. I don’t like seeing anyone cry.

“I’m sorry that you were upset, and it wasn’t nice seeing you upset. I know we’ve got our differences but I didn’t want to see you like that, I really didn’t. I just thought at the time it was probably best to give you space.”

Rosie tells Adam that she appreciates his apology and explains again his affection for Zara came as a shock when she’d thought everything between her and Adam had been going well.

They agree to be friendly moving forward, with Rosie even suggesting they hug it out.

She tells Adam: “That’s all I wanted, was to be your friend. But I did want you to know that I did really like you and I did have feelings for you. It was never fake on my part anyway and I did want to see what would happen and obviously it hasn’t worked out.

“All I want is just to be friends with you so I’m glad you pulled me up. Thank you.”

Adam, meanwhile, tells the Beach Hut he’s happy to have cleared the air with Rosie.

He says that he genuinely does wish Rosie well and hopes she finds someone else in the villa, while he continues to pursue Zara.

“I really do hope she gets whatever she wants to get out of the villa,” says Adam. “I really do because it’s not nice seeing someone upset and hopefully it’ll be a bit of a distraction as well as something real.”

Rosie’s spirits were lifted on Thursday night when a new boy arrived, entrepreneur Sam Bird.

As she’s now single, the pressure is on to find someone to couple up with at the next recoupling and secure her place in the villa, so naturally Rosie was hoping to hit it off with Sam.

Unfortunately for Rosie, when Sam named his top four women in the villa she was NOT among them.

A hurt Rosie later confronted Sam on why he hadn’t named her, to which he insisted he was just playing his cards close to his chest and not giving anything away.

But Rosie will have to battle fellow singleton Samira Mighty for Sam’s attentions, as Samira is also vulnerable at the next recoupling now that her partner, Alex George, has hooked up with newcomer Ellie Brown.

Sam’s also got his eye on Ellie, Zara and Georgia Steel… so it’s anybody’s guess who he will recouple with!

Love Island airs 9pm on ITV2.
