Love Island contestant slams ‘desperate’ reality stars

The former Love Island hunk has turned his back on TV and fame

| Updated:

Jonny Mitchell found fame on TV show Love Island, spending a summer lying around the pool with his shirt off, flirting with gorgeous young women.

But now the 26-year-old is slamming reality TV shows and the people who go on them as “desperate”.

Jonny seems to have turned his back on the celebrity lifestyle, describing shows like Love Island as “a disease”.

He said he “hated” the public appearances he did after returning to Britain and felt like he was “killing himself.”

Talking to The Sun Online, the Essex hunk explained that he is turning his back on celebrity lifestyle in favour of his new business venture.

“A lot of people are dying, fighting off scraps to get back onto TV, and I’m just not that hungry for it,” he revealed.

“If something came my way… I’ve been asked on a couple of different things too, but to be totally honest with you, if I think it’s right for me I’ll do it but I’m not gonna go out of my way to get back on TV.

“I’d rather just get back to business.”

After his millionaire lifestyle was exposed as not exactly true, it does now seem that Jonny could be on his way to a real fortune, with a new business venture in the foreign exchange market.

And his glamorous girlfriend – reality TV star Stephanie Pratt – is right by his side.

After his dalliances with fellow Love Island contestants including Camilla, Chyna and Tyla, he is now happily loved-up with the Made In Chelsea beauty.

Jonny also revealed that he has been happy to swap all those post-Love Island nightclub personal appearances for business events.

“They were killing me,” he explained.

“I thought I was going to love them but after a week I looked at myself in the mirror and thought I can’t do this. I’m literally killing myself.”
