Lorraine Kelly baffles viewers with her Halloween costume

She treated herself to a new look

| Updated:

Lorraine Kelly tricked viewers about the effort she was making to don fancy dress for her show’s Halloween special today – so they were somewhat disappointed when her costume was revealed.

The 57-year-old danced into the decorated studio dressed as Snow White, leaving her disappointed fans wondering what the Disney Princess had to do with the scariest night of the year.

“Halloween? Lorraine is dressed as Snow White. Very Halloweeny. NOT,” one tweeted, while another criticised Lorraine’s effort writing, “What’s Halloween about Snow White? Not even a zombie Snow White.”

Lorraine completed her look by having a toy bird perched on her hand. Before the show started, she’d made out she’d be recognisable by spending hours getting ready for the special edition of the show.

“Join me later when I’ll be transformed!” she teased GMB viewers before showing herself being surrounded by hair and make-up artists.

Her co-hosts were more in keeping with the celebration with Dan Wootton dressed as Dracula and Mark Heyes having his face-painted as a skull.

They were joined via video link in the US by Ross King dressed up as a pirate.

Lorraine said she loved Halloween which has always been “a big deal” in her native Scotland where children go “Guising” instead of Trick Or Treating.

She explained: “You dress up and knock on doors but then you have to do something like tell a joke or perform a song. Children rehearse what they are going to do for weeks!”

Lorraine said she loved “guising” when she was a youngster, especially if she got some cash when knocking on rich people’s doors.

She added: “And you didn’t buy a costume, you had to make your own.”

However, viewers were disappointed she hadn’t gone for a more fitting Halloween costume today, homemade or not.

On today’s Halloween special, Lorraine exclusively revealed the second celebrity to appear on the next series of Dancing On Ice.
