Lee Ryan reveals why his EastEnders co-stars find him “weird”

Blue star's been putting his foot in his mouth again

Blue member Lee Ryan has revealed his EastEnders co-stars think he is “weird”.

The singer turned actor joined the BBC soap in April as Woody Woodward where he began helping with the running of the Queen Vic in the absence of Mick Carter (Danny Dyer).

Appearing on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, Lee said he still pinches himself and giggles when he is on set.

He added he would say to his co-stars: “Isn’t this weird? Haven’t we got a weird job and they just say ‘you’re weird’.”

He added: “I have these weird moments where I step outside of myself and I see everyone on set.”

On working with Danny, he said: “It’s great … He’s funny, he makes me laugh.”

Asked whether he thought his acting career would overtake his music on, Lee said: “I don’t know.

“Music’s always going to be a part of me because it’s where I’ve been brought up and I always want to go back to it.”

There was much excitement on Sunday Brunch today, as resident chef and co-host Simon Rimmer was announced as the latest contestant for this year’s Strictly.

The news was revealed by his co-host Tim Lovejoy on their weekend show.

Tim immediately mocked his pal, presenting him with a paint can of fake tan and a colour-match chart.

He also joked that the Liverpudlian chef had no chance of winning.

“I’ve never ever danced in my life,” the dad-of-two admitted. “I’m very excited and can’t wait.
