Kym Marsh reveals what she said to Jamie Lomas after he left I’m A Celeb

The Corrie star was cheering on Jamie every step of the way

Jamie Lomas had just one question for his ex-wife Kym Marsh when he left I’m A Celebrity: was their daughter proud of him?

Former Hollyoaks star Jamie, 42, had to say goodbye to Polly, six, and his 11-year-old son Billy while he was in the Australian jungle.

But as soon as the show ended, he was straight on the phone to find out how they were.

Jamie shares Polly with Kym, while Billy’s mum is his ex, Hayley Lever.

Writing in her OK! magazine column, Kym said: “Jamie called me soon after he got out and I said how well he’d done.

“He asked me whether Pol was proud of him and I told him that she was.

“Polly was a bit out of sorts while he wasn’t around, plus we moved and she’s been unwell. She began sleeping much better once she knew her daddy was travelling home.”

Jamie and Coronation Street star Kym, 41, were married between 2012 and 2014 and have maintained an amicable relationship over the years.

Kym added: “[Polly] was so excited to see him as she really missed him! Pol was upset he didn’t win but I explained that Daddy was happy. I also said that as he was the only boy left, he was technically king of the jungle!”

The soap star was beaten to the title by Made In Chelsea’s Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo, who is now the reigning Queen of the Jungle.

Jamie was on yesterday’s Loose Women to chat about his jungle experience – and reveal how he embarrassed little Polly in front of campmate Dennis Wise!

While chatting with the panel, the actor revealed his daughter Polly was a huge fan of retired footballer Dennis.

“When I spoke to her when I came out, she said, ‘Dad, I have a million questions to ask you about I’m A Celebrity! Dad, will you ring Dennis?'” recalled Jamie.

“So I ring him – one of the nicest men you’ll ever meet, by the way – and I said, ‘Dennis, will you speak to my daughter?’ So, he spoke to her, and the next day, she went, ‘Dad, will you ring Dennis again?’

“So I ring him and said, ‘Dennis, do me a favour, mate, she’s driving me up the wall, will you just speak to her?’

“Anyway, she started crying! ‘I can’t believe you’ve embarrassed me, dad, [in front of Dennis]!’

“I went, ‘I think you love Dennis, don’t you?!'”
