Kym Marsh admits she’s ‘torn’ over ex Jamie Lomas doing I’m A Celeb

She shares a six-year-old daughter with the soap star

Kym Marsh has been cheering on ex-husband Jamie Lomas in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle.

But there’s a slight problem…

The soap actress, who shares a daughter, Polly, six, with Jamie, also feels loyalty towards her Coronation Street co-star Jennie McAlpine, who just so happens to be competing against Jamie this year.

Writing in her OK! magazine column, Kym said: “Jamie and I have a good relationship and our main priority is Polly. I’m a bit torn, though, as my friend and Corrie co-star Jennie McAlpine is also in the jungle!

“I would love for either Jamie or Jennie to win, but Polly would just be so happy if her daddy won, so because of that he has the edge for me.

“Jamie to win!”

Kym, 41, also confessed that she and Polly will be voting for Jamie to do EVERY single Bushtucker Trial.

But rather than wanting to see him suffer, she explained: “Polly will want to see him being challenged as he’s her hero. I think he’ll do well and he’ll try to win the challenges. ”

So far, the former Hollyoaks star has managed to avoid being chosen for a Bushtucker Trial – boxer Amir Khan and Made In Chelsea’s Georgia Toffolo did the first one, which ended in Amir screaming “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!” when he saw a snake.

Amir’s also been selected for the second one, which airs on Tuesday night.

Will he fare any better tonight? Jury’s out!

Meanwhile, Kym has been supporting Jamie on social media as well, posting a sweet video on Sunday night showing the couple’s daughter Polly urging viewers to vote for Jamie to win the jungle.

In the clip, little Polly says: “Everybody vote for Jamie Lomas. My daddy. Vote for him now. Please, please, please!

“I’m excited to watch him and excited to see if he wins!”

Kym uploaded the video with the caption: “I think someone is excited to watch their daddy @imacelebrity she’s wants to vote now even though you can’t, super cute.”

Throwing her support behind Jamie, 42, even further, the actress retweeted someone who wrote: “Awwww bless #teamlomas all the way Polly.”

Another follower praised Kym on being supportive of her ex-husband, telling her: “What a wonderful example of a separated parent you are. So many use Twitter to slate or jab at exes. To see one support and with children is lush.”

Kym simply replied: “Thank you.”

Kym was married to ex Hollyoaks actor Jamie from 2012 until 2014.

They are parents to daughter Polly and son Archie, who tragically died after being born 18 weeks early in 2009.

Since their split, the pair appear to have remained on good terms.

Just last year Kym used her OK! magazine column to share her excitement at Jamie’s return to Hollyoaks as bad boy Warren Fox.

She said: “The show has tried a few times over the years to find a replacement for Warren but in my opinion no one has come close, so it’s fantastic for the fans that he’s going back.”

Jamie has since quit Hollyoaks again, suggesting recently he chose to enter the jungle over renewing his contract with the Channel 4 soap.

He said: “I was actually asked about this years ago but it wasn’t the right stage in my life.

“But it’s been a good year with work and I really did feel now was the right time to branch out. I have finished on Hollyoaks now.

“I had to make a decision – whether to sign [on for more episodes] or take the gamble. The gamble was I wanted to do this. And I felt it came at the right time. And it has paid off because I am doing it.”

The 17th series of the show kicked off on Sunday night with ten new celebs arriving in Oz ready to face the spiders, snakes and other jungle horrors.

It continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
