Jeremy Kyle viewers in tears at actual NICE story

The show reunited two squaddies after 40 years

More often than not, The Jeremy Kyle Show is one big slanging match, with people threatening to duff each other up live on air.

So it’s refreshing when a story comes up that provides some respite from the argy-bargy and tugs at the heart strings.

That’s exactly what we got on today’s programme, as two army pals had a tearful reunion after losing touch for 40 YEARS!

And they weren’t the only ones who turned on the waterworks – viewers at home were rendered a blubbery mess!

Kyle started the segment by introducing a squaddie called Paul, who was devastated because he’d lost contact with his old military comrade John.

The two men had served together in Ireland in the 1970s but, despite Paul’s best efforts – numerous letters and website searches – he’d been unable to locate John’s whereabouts.

So the veteran, who’s suffering from MS, looked amazed when Kyle began reading out a letter from his missing mate.

It read: “Hi Paul. What a shock it was that you were trying to find me. Thank you so much for getting in touch. I’ve often thought about you and wondered if we’d ever meet again.

“During our time serving together, there were some tough days, but having you as a best buddy made it easier.

“I hope that one day soon we can see each other, and perhaps have another game of chess.”

Hearing his friend’s words after all this time soon got the better of Paul, and despite his rugged background he began crying into a tissue.

But the surprise didn’t end there for the former soldier – and we think you can probably guess what happened next.

Yep, in strided John, before the two men launched into an emotional embrace to the cheers of the audience.

And the emotion of the occasion was all too much for some viewers, with many verbally sobbing on Twitter.

One person wrote: “IT’S 10am AND I’M CRYING AT JEREMY KYLE.”

Another blubbed: “I love this. I’m an emotional wreck right now – what a lovely ending.”

And a third gushed: “Wow, that gave me all the feels – incredible, emotional. So happy for them!”

Let’s hope the two buddies can keep in touch this time…
