Jack Maynard says he would love another chance to go on I’m A Celebrity

He wants to "prove himself".

Jack Maynard appeared on today’s Good Morning Britain to explain how “scary” it was for him when he was kicked off I’m A Celebrity last year, and how he would love to return to the show to “prove” himself.

The 23-year-old said he would jump at the chance to finish the adventure after his time on the show was cut short.

He also joked that it would give people a chance to vote for him to do an unpleasant Bushtucker Trial if they thought he “deserved it.”

He told the GMB presenters: “I would go back in to prove myself as I didn’t really get the worst of it while I was on there – maybe I deserve it, who knows. Maybe I should go in there and face some of my fears.”

The YouTube star was booted out of the jungle after just a few days when allegations emerged that he had published inappropriate and offensive tweets in the past.

Speaking about the day he was told his I’m A Celeb experience was over, he said: “It was pretty horrible and quite scary to be honest, as I got taken out first thing in the morning and I didn’t really know what was going on.

“I went to the medical hut to be greeted by the producers who didn’t really tell me much at the time. They just said there ‘have been some accusations and we have to take you out of the show’.

“I was panicking and didn’t know what was happening.”

Back at the hotel, Jack found out complaints had emerged about historic tweets he had written when he was a teenager which were homophobic and racist. He was also accused of sending an inappropriate message to a young fan.

The 23-year-old apologised for his actions, which he said he now deeply regrets.

Susanna Reid said she thought his experience served as a “morality tale” to warn young people to be more guarded about what they post publicly on social media.

Jack agreed, saying he hopes his young fans will learn from his mistake and realise they leave a “digital footprint” that could come back to haunt them.

The vlogger also revealed he has another big project coming up – he’s going on tour of the UK as a DJ.

Tickets are now on sale for the events at venues including Glasgow and London where he will perform a DJ set and be joined by a number of special guest.

“Every show will be different,” he said.
