Jack Maynard has released a new vlog on YouTube, in which he apologises for saying some “pretty disgusting things”.

The I’m A Celebrity contestant left the jungle earlier this week after racist and homophobic tweets he posted five years ago were surfaced by a newspaper.

In the video – lasting just under five minutes – the internet star said he was “young” and “careless” when he posted the messages.

“I’ve been really stupid in the past,” he admitted.

The YouTube favourite – who turned 23 today –  sat on a bed in a location in London, as he addressed his 1.2million subscribers.

“I’m so sorry to anyone that I offended, anyone that I upset, anyone I made feel uncomfortable.

“I’ve tweeted some bad things, some horrible things, some pretty disgusting things that I’m just ashamed of.

“I was young I was careless, I just wasn’t thinking, this was back when I had just left school and I didn’t know what I was doing.

“All I can do is beg and encourage that you guys don’t make the same mistake as well.

“Don’t put anything online you wouldn’t say to your mum.”
