I’m A Celeb viewers crying at Amir Khan question

We couldn't believe our ears!

Amir Khan had I’m A Celebrity viewers in stitches last night as he made another embarrassing gaffe.

After Stanley Johnson was made the new jungle Prime Minister, the world champion boxer asked him to the dismay of his fellow campmates, “Can I ask you a question Prime Minister, if god forbid something happens to you, could a woman become Prime Minister?”

Stanley replied that would be the case in camp as Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo had been voted his deputy.

Amir wasn’t satisfied though and asked again, “what I am trying to say is, when your guys time is up, can a woman become Prime Minister?”

He than added: “Has there ever been a woman Prime Minister?”

“Are you joking?” Rebekah Vardy asked him.

“Oh yes, Margaret Thatcher!” Amir said suddenly having a brain wave.

“And the current one, Theresa!” she reminded him.

Realising his mistake, Amir then said sheepishly as his campmates laughed, “Oh yeah, Theresa May! Don’t tell anyone I said that!”

“Bit late for that Amir,” Jamie Lomas said given they were surrounded by cameras.

And of course the show seized on the moment to share with viewers who found it hilarious.

They wasted no time in taking to Twitter to mock the Olympian saying he is “daft as a brush” and comparing him to Joey Essex.

This isn’t the first time Amir has shown he isn’t the brightest campmate.

The soon to be father of two has also made viewers laugh by mistaking steam for smoke, admitting he’s never cleaned anything in his 30 years and for being terrified of spiders and snakes.

However, he faced his fear last night in the live trial by allowing a snake to be draped around his neck.

He also won stars in the boys versus girls challenge by standing in a helmet full of critters and counting to 60 seconds more accurately than his rival Jennie McAlpine.

Viewers will find out this evening who won the trial as it carried on today with four campmates in a race to the finish line.

Just as well the result isn’t based on an IQ test or the boys would surely lose with Amir on their team!
