I’m A Celeb star admits they nearly QUIT the jungle

It's not been the easiest of rides in Australia

Life in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing for comedian Iain Lee.

So perhaps it’s not really a surprise that Iain, 44, has considering quitting.

During last night’s Extra Camp, the star appeared in the Bush Telegraph to answer viewers’ questions, including one about his biggest achievement in camp.

Iain revealed: “I think my biggest achievement has been staying in the jungle, because there have been a couple of times when I’ve wanted to go. I tend to walk away from things, so staying here has been a big achievement for me.”

Iain added: “I’m a very nervous, socially awkward person, so the thing I struggle with the most is being around ten other very big personalities, as normally I’m quite isolated.”

Iain was a late arrival in camp this year and has become one of the most talked-about stars in there, largely in part to accusations he’s been targeted by other campmates.

Some viewers think Dennis Wise and Jamie Lomas in particular have treated Iain unfairly.

Just two nights ago, Dennis voiced his objections to Iain doing a Bushtucker Trial by suggesting he didn’t trust Iain to bring home food for camp, given his past failures.

Naturally, Iain was a bit miffed by it all and retreated to the Bush Telegraph to say it “did feel a bit humiliating having my list of failures kind of recited back to me.”

Dennis, however, felt he was justified in his argument, pointing out: “People need to eat and people are hungry. If he doesn’t like my opinion, he doesn’t like it, but I have to say what I feel.”

Last night, retired footballer Dennis became the latest star to go home.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain today, he admitted being “shocked” by allegations he’d behaved unfairly towards Iain.

“I was quite shocked to be honest when I saw all of that,” said Dennis.

“I’ve said I will get Iain some tickets for him and his two kids to go to Chelsea. I’m also going on his talk news show and all of us are going to go to Amir’s [Khan] boxing in February when he has his first fight.

“And I’m also going to meet him where his mother is in a care home, and have some dinner with him, so I’m a little shocked with what has happened.

“We have got on very well. It’s really interesting as I think ITV wouldn’t allow that anyway.

“It’s something I don’t think they’d ever allow.”

I’m A Celebrity airs nightly on ITV.
