Holly & Phil make Strictly stars blush by demanding truth about romance rumours

You can't hide anything from the This Morning duo!

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield appeared to be playing Cupid on This Morning!

The pair were determined to find out whether Strictly Come Dancing couple Mollie King and AJ Pritchard are really dating.

Now, we all know Mollie and AJ have denied romance already.

But it seemed like Holly and Phil weren’t convinced!

When Mollie and AJ arrived on set, Phillip immediately read out Shirley Ballas’ comments from the weekend about them having “unbelievable chemistry.”

A blushing Mollie replied: “No, we are not together!”

“Promise?” said Phil.

“I promise!” insisted Mollie.

“You wouldn’t fib to us, would you?” needled Phil.

Holly then stepped in to sympathise with Mollie and AJ – but also add in a cheeky remark that they would be the perfect couple!

“Is it driving you mad?” asked Holly, before saying: “The only reason we’re so excited about this is that you look so lovely together, so beautiful together, and it would be so nice!”

A laughing Mollie said: “We get on so well and maybe that’s why there are rumours. We are best friends, we spend so much time together – training 12 hours a day – and we still love spending every moment with him.

“It’s mad we’re not sick of each other!”

Phil had been listening to all of this and still didn’t seem convinced about the pair’s status!

“Mollie, you’re single? And AJ?” he asked.

They both confirmed, yes, they’re single, to which Phillip said: “Well you know, I’m sorry, but you can see why people have done this!”

Mollie said: “I think with Strictly everyone just likes to think romance and we’re also both single. Everyone just loves a love story!”

Very true, Mollie!

And even their denial on This Morning wasn’t stopping viewers keeping their fingers crossed that Cupid’s arrow might strike one day!

This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
