Holby City SPOILER: Oliver Valentine stares death in the face tonight

Anyone but beautiful Ollie!

With all the changes going on at Holby City, you’d think they might all manage to stop for a bit, take a deep breath and carry on with business as usual.

But oh no, not at Holby.

Ollie Valentine (played by James Anderson) has been struggling to deal with what’s happening to him recently.

So when his mood swings and behaviour become violent, Roxanna (Hermione Gulliford) is determined to find out why.

After a scan reveals that the bullet in the doctor’s head is leaking poison into his brain, it’s a race against time to save Ollie.

Can he survive more surgery? Or will we have to say goodbye to yet another Holby hottie after losing Raf (Joe McFadden)?

And can Roxanna continue running on zero, as Professor Gaskell  (Paul McGann) discovers that she’s been living at the hospital following the death of her beloved husband David.

With their esteemed leader Henrik Hanssen AWOL, this week’s episode saw Serena Campbell return to help steer the ship.

Next week’s episode sees her catching up on everything that’s been going on, including her nephew Jason’s love life.

When his girlfriend Greta is admitted to AAU with breathing problems, Serena is shocked to find out that’s not all that is wrong.

With partner Bernie Wolfe out in Nairobi, she also finds herself making her own tough decisions.

The character, played by actress Catherine Russell, revealed to Lorraine last week that we will see the return of Bernie on the show.

She said: “Jemma Redgrave is coming back to do a few episodes next month. But of course, you have to bear in mind that it’s about four months until you’ll see that on the television.”

“They would never just let that story die a death. It’s been too popular. [They’re] two women of a certain age, and two women who just happened to fall in love with each other. It has a lot going for it.”

Yay! Berena lives on!

But in the meantime, let’s hope Serena can keep the good ship Holby on an even keel.
